From a modest beginning in 1996 in Kalavai in North Arcot District., Tamilnadu, India (the Samadhi Sthala of Their Holinesses 66 th and 67 th Jagadguru Shankaracharyas of Kanchi Kamakoti Mutt) with one Veda teacher and 6 students, KGVVTT has steadily grown in the last 3 decades into a multi Vedic branch organization (Rig, Yajur and Sama Veda) with current strength of 18 teachers and around 280 Vedic Students spread across 18 different Vedic learning centers in Tamil Nadu and Vijayawada Students are enrolled at an young age about 6 to 8 yrs and the Vedas are imparted in the time tested method of oral recitation of their respective branch of Vedas under the tutelage of their Vedic Masters for up to 8 years till they complete their learning. During their stay the students are provided free boarding and lodging. Students passing the Vedic course are awarded certificates which enable them to disseminate Vedas and serve the community.
KGVVT’s Finances
KGVVT’s current annual expenditure for running the organization in Indian Rupees Three Hundred and lakhs (Rs. 3,00,00,000/-) KGVVT is relying solely on voluntary contributions (both financial and material) from donors for running its eighteen learning centres.
KGVVTT earnestly appeals to philanthropists and well-wishers to support this noble task financially by sponsoring a student’s Vedic education by making a recurring monthly contribution of Rs. 7500/- or annual contribution of Rs. 90,000/- which will strengthen KGVVT financially. It may be relevant to mentions here that KGVVT is managed by a few dedicated volunteers who devote a substantial part of their time and energy in administering the organisation, because of which the administration overheads are nil and 100% of financial contributions made by donors directly go to fund the Vedic learning centres.
KGVVT is also striving to augment its long-term funding base and create a Corpus to sustain and grow and provide Vedic education to more and more students in the years ahead. Donors’ contribution towards lump sum corpus is most welcome. KGVVT also provides a continuous connect between the philanthropists supporting Veda and Vedic learning centers by giving them an opportunity to sponsor a day’s expense @ Rs. 7500/- per day on important days like one’s Birthday, Wedding Day, auspicious Occasions, festival days, Shraddanjali days of ancestors etc., in each of the Vedic learning centers given hereunder and Vedic prayers would be conducted for the welfare of such sponsors on such days.
